Dear Friends and Family,
As we inch closer to the kick off of Pride Week, we know you are just as excited as we are to celebrate the strength, diversity and generosity of our community! Pride Week culminates with the 19th Annual Pride Parade and Rainbow Festival on Saturday June 12th. This year’s theme is Pride In Our Community. The parade will take place in the streets of Spokane and will be followed by a festival and business fair at Gondola Meadows in Riverfront Park. These events promote equality, public and Government awareness of LGBT rights, and the diversity of our amazing community in the Inland Northwest.
OutSpokane is the proud organizer and sponsor of this event, in collaboration with other local LGBTQA organizations. Each year, we strive to make this event a fun, inspirational, family affair for the entire community to come together and celebrate our differences, and this year is no different. We plan on having family friendly entertainers, musical guests, a Kid Zone, and engaging speakers who will highlight the ongoing struggle for LGBT rights and honor those who have fought for equality. But we can’t do this without your help.
We have always counted on the generous support of people like you since the inception of our organization 19 years ago and right now, we are at a critical point in time. With Pride only a few short weeks away, we still have a way to go to pay for the essential elements of the Parade and Festival. This money covers everything from security and barricades to stage and sound equipment, our Kid Zone, the beer garden and entertainment. Numerous corporate sponsors have already stepped up to the plate to help, but we need your support to make the final push to June 12th!
We know our community is strong and ready for action. You have shown us this time and time again, and we are always amazed at the outpouring of support we receive from people like you. Will you help us reach our goal this year and make this the best pride yet? A donation of $10, $20, $25 or more will help us provide you with a safe, fun and community oriented event that will continue the progress made by the LGBTQA community in recent years. It may not sound like much but if we work together we can send a message that our community is stronger, and more united than ever!
